Two Livingston Students Win National Art Contest

Two Livingston Parish Public School students recently won this year’s National ESS Art Contest. Jacob Li from Live Oak Elementary won the 3-5 grade competition, and Sherry Yang from Live Oak High School won the 9-12 grade competition. Both students were awarded $500 for themselves and their schools. The 2023 competition received 1,600 entries of original artwork from students in grades K-12. The art was related to the theme “If you could take a school field trip anywhere, where would you go?” Each submission was scored based on artistic and technical skill, originality, adherence to the theme, and creativity of title. Five finalists were selected from each grade group across the nation.
