If your family is looking for an outdoor adventure, Pilgrim Trail is a 2.7-mile hike that stops at all of the must-see spots, including Plymouth Rock. The trail winds through Brewster Gardens, which offers a beautiful spot to rest and have a picnic, before ending at Morton Park. ■ seeplymouth.com

Step aboard a classic train for a ride that brings your family to areas only accessible by the railways on Cape Cod Central Railroad. View woodlands, sand dunes, cranberry bogs and salt marshes, and during the holidays, you can experience The Train to Christmas Town. ■ capetrain.com

Choose a horse or a Roman chariot as you and your kiddos take a spin on The Paragon Carousel. The Carousel is the last remaining attraction from Paragon Park that closed in 1985. Rides are available seasonally, rain or shine. Nearby in The Clock Tower Building, you can find the Paragon Park Museum.
