Holidays

Our Christmas Playlist

We all have that one song that gets us in the holiday spirit. Here are a few of our favorites.

Brandon Foreman
“Angels we Have Heard on High” by The Piano Guys

Amy Foreman
“Santa Baby” by Eartha Kitt. I always make this my ringtone around Christmas, because it makes me excited to see who is calling rather than ignore the ring and “All I Want for Christmas is You” by Mariah Carey, because she is amazing and this song makes me dance around. “Rockin Around the Christmas Tree,” “Santa Claus is Coming to Town,” and “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” are fun with the kids when we are decorating. They always recognize these songs and know some of the words.

Travis Broussard
“Mary, Did You Know?” by Pentatonix. This is the most powerful rendition. This song reminds me of the true meaning of Christmas and that the beginning of the greatest story ever told started 2,000 years ago with a willing vessel giving birth to a baby who would change the world. Mary did not have all the answers and was afraid, but through faith, still said yes.

Taylor Voisin
“All I Want for Christmas is You” by Vince, Vance, and the Valiants; “Merry Christmas, Darling” by The Carpenters; “The First Noel” by Josh Groban ft. Faith Hill; “I'll Be Home for Christmas” by Josh Groban; “Angels We Have Heard on High” by Josh Groban ft. Brian McKnight; “The Little Drummer Boy” by David Bowie and Bing Crosby; “A Marshmallow World” by Dean Martin; and “Here Comes Santa Claus” by Elvis Presley. Why? Because, I have a problem.

Roxane Voorhies
“Silent Night.” My children wanted me to sing “Silent Night” to them every night as a bedtime song and so we sang it together all year long.

Karen McCullen
“O Holy Night” for the meaning, Justin Bieber and Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” because it’s fun, “Mary, Did You Know?” for the chills, and anything by Michael Bublé because it's Michael Bublé. Did you need only one? No can do, it’s Christmas, ya’ll!

Joy Holden
“Christmas (Baby, Please Come Home)” by Mariah Carey because it fills me with holiday glee, and “All I Want for Christmas Is You” by Vince, Vance, and the Valiants because I’ve loved it since I was little! I also love “All I Want for Christmas is You” from Love Actually.

Amanda Miller
“Blue Christmas” by Elvis Presley. We would always put on Elvis’s Christmas album while we were decorating the tree so this song has a special place in my heart.

Mason Hood
“Little Saint Nick” by the Beach Boys. I like it because it sounds like a song that you would listen to in the summer, but it's actually a Christmas song.

Kassie Williams
“Santa Claus is Coming to Town” by Bruce Springsteen. I always thought it was a cool Christmas song, and I remember my little sister and I jamming out to it on Christmas Eve. ■
