Louisiana Triathlon Selected as the USA Triathlon State Championship

The annual Louisiana Triathlon, owned by the Rocketkidz Foundation, has been held since 1989. This year, the triathlon is running on May 6 with the theme being “laissez les bon temps roulez.” The event will be divided into a standard distance, a beginner’s division, and a duathlon consisting of a 400-meter and 800-meter swim, an 18-mile bike ride, and a 5K run on the banks of False River. There will be plenty of fun for spectators and as a treat, there will be a post-race performance by the band Mardi Gras in May. Spectators may wish to watch the start at the parking lot of Morrison Parkway, next to Satterfield’s, then traverse up the hill to Main Street. The finish line will be on St. Mary’s Street. louisianatri.net
