Is it Your Party or Their Party?

The table looks amazing. Each snack and dessert is perfectly labeled. Your friends marvel at the decorations and comment on the lively clown painting faces and creating balloon animals. You rejoice inside. The party is a success! Wait, where are the kids? You look through the crowd and, thankfully, hear squeals of glee. Oh good, they like it, too.

Yikes! Was this party for you or for your son? While we all love a good party, don’t let yourself get so into the planning and the decorating that you forget what the party is truly all about–celebrating the birth of your little one. While the decorations and planning may seem very important, at the end of the day, it’s about your child. He will more than likely love everything about the party whether you go big or stay small. ■
