The REAL ID Act establishes minimum security standards for state-issued Driver’s Licenses (DL) and Identification (ID) cards that can be used for official federal purposes.
Want to know if your card is compliant? REAL ID-compliant cards are marked with a star at the top of the card. In Louisiana, the star is gold.
If you don't have one, the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles Public Safety Services provides Louisiana's ID Expert (LOUIE) to help you identify the documents you need to get a REAL ID.
