Baton Rouge Book Drop Accepting Children’s Book Donations

Anne Thomas made it her New Year’s resolution to stock Little Free Libraries in Baton Rouge with books so everyone could enjoy reading. In an effort to foster a love of reading and promote literacy, Thomas began stocking multiple libraries. Eventually, book donations began showing up at her doorstep. To help deliver the donations even faster, she created Baton Rouge Book Drop (BRBD). Today, BRBD delivers children’s books to schools and nonprofits that serve youth in East Baton Rouge Parish. In just one year, BRBD donated over 3,000 books to over 25 schools and nonprofits. If you have books you would like to donate to the cause, email batonrougebookdrop@gmail.com to arrange a pickup or drop off. The group accepts new and gently-used children’s books for birth through eighth grade. ■ batonrougebookdrop.org
