Louisianians ages 12 and up can now receive the COVID-19 vaccine, following a thorough review and decision by the FDA and CDC. Now, more families have the ability to protect their children and enjoy summer with confidence.

Yes, the newly authorized Pfizer shot is safe and effective. The vaccine is so safe that the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) urges teens and adults to get the COVID-19 vaccine as soon as it is available.

Q: Are the vaccines free?

Yes, COVID-19 vaccines are free to everyone. Providers can't ask a patient for payment.

Q: Can my student get a shot now?
A:
