Ambassador Girl Scout Receives GSUSA Gold Scholarship Award

The Girl Scouts of Louisiana East recently announced that Calcea Johnson is the recipient of the Girl Scouts of the USA Gold Award Scholarship. An Ambassador Girl Scout from New Orleans, Calcea has been a Girl Scout since Kindergarten and is a graduate of St. Mary’s Academy. Calcea and one of her classmates recently discovered new proof for the Pythagorean Theorem, and she plans to continue her education at Louisiana State University and major in Environmental Engineering. “From discovering new proof of the Pythagorean Theorem to focusing on the civic duty of Americans, Calcea truly exemplifies the diversity of interests any girl can have in Girl Scouts. We cannot wait to see her future achievements,” says Rebecca  Pennington, CEO of Girl Scouts Louisiana East. gsle.org
