Kris Cangelosi has an established dance training school in Baton Rouge that offers formal classes in classical ballet, modern, contemporary, jazz, tap, and acro. The school continues to be committed to instilling a codified vocabulary and technique for each dance style to students ages 7-19. The school also offers a recreational dance program in ballet, tap, and jazz for students ages 3-10 who want a taste of the arts.

CDP company is a nonprofit dance organization that provides opportunities to enrolled CDP students with dance workshops, partial scholarships, boys’ scholarship program, event program sponsorships, and community performances, as well as formal stage shows.

Additional CDP programs include the CDP Youth Leadership Team, competition team, outreach program, summer intensive program, and four performing companies.

Many of Kris’s former students have professional dance careers and perform with notable companies such as Giordano Dance Chicago, Hubbard Street Chicago, NYC Rockettes, Atlanta Ballet, Ballet Tennessee, Delta Ballet Festival, and Walt Disney Productions to name a few. Her students continue to audition for college dance programs across the United States and several own dance schools.

Kris is certified with Dance Masters of American Chapter #3, holds a BFA in Dance Choreography/Kinesiology from LSU, received the 2014 Arts Leadership Award (Louisiana Culture Awards), and was named one of the 2014 Most influential Women in Business.

Kris continues to give to the Baton Rouge Community by being active in charity and social events. Recently, she walked the runway as an honoree for the Best Dressed Ball supporting Cancer; supported adults with disabilities with Dancing for a Cause for The Arc of East; worked with Dancing for Big Buddy, whose mission is to inspire youth in the Baton Rouge area; and she serves on many boards and committees, which focus on assisting community children and supporting the fight against cancer.
