The Pediatric Place

Ten years ago, board-certified pediatricians–Dawn Barrient, MD, FAAP; Kelly Busenlener, MD, FAAP; and Cherron Philippe, MD, FAAP–came together with a simple yet significant mission: deliver top-notch medical care to infants, children, and adolescents and establish close relationships with them and their families. With this mission in mind, The Pediatric Place was formed.

“We were looking to provide a more personal and family-centered healthcare, and we could do that by being independent versus being a part of a big, multi-specialty group. We thought our families would really appreciate it being more geared towards them specifically,” says Dr. Busenlener.

The pediatricians at The Pediatric Place help to create an environment at the clinic that is welcoming but with a personal touch. Dr. Barrient shares that the group wanted to create a healthcare experience that was meaningful to their patients, which is exactly what they have done.

This excellent care has encouraged many patients who have seen the doctors when they were younger to now bring their own children to be seen. This has helped develop relationships that are not often seen in a healthcare setting. “We’re a part of the family and they’re a part of our family,” says Dr. Philippe.

Dr. Busenlener adds, “We are a small practice with very consistent staff so our patients and parents alike get to know our nurses and front desk by name. We know each other’s patients. While I may not see Dr. Philippe’s and Dr. Barrient’s patients, I know those families, too. I think that’s important to have consistent, familiar healthcare, especially with kids.”

All three pediatricians have a love for what they do, especially in getting to see their families grow up over the years and building relationships with them that last.
