Baton Rouge Parents Magazine

With thousands of businesses in the Greater Baton Rouge area, choosing services for your children and family can sometimes be overwhelming. That’s why we asked our savvy readers to chime in and let us know which businesses they feel deserve some recognition (and their dollars). Whether it is an enrichment program that helped a child grow out of his shyness, or a restaurant owner that recognized a distraught parent and offered some encouraging words while they waited for a seat, these businesses affect the lives of families in our community.

We opened the voting in June 2011 with a published and online survey asking readers to fill in the blanks with their top picks in more than 40 categories. The response were overwhelming and the votes have been tallied. In addition to naming the winner for each category, we have also given recognition to the first and second runner-ups.
Be sure to look for the Family Favorites seal around town as well as in advertisements. This seal will tell you that readers of Baton Rouge Parents Magazine value that business. Of course, we know that your family favorites may not have made this year’s list, so be sure to keep them in mind for next year!
